Kayaking with River Tribe Adventures offers views of some of the most hidden and yet best views in the North East of Victoria. You are bound to connect with nature with close to 200 species of birds, 47 native mammal species, 38 native reptiles, 12 native frog species and more than 800 native plant species and all condensed into 124km of Ovens River and the surrounding catchment. The Ovens River is one of the last unregulated water ways and it is a natural and peaceful place to explore.

EXPLORE NATURE AND ENJOY THE HIGH NATURE CONSERVATION VALUE OF THIS RIVER, IT CONTAINS A SIGNIFICANT RARE FLORA AND FAUNA. OVER 800 NATIVE AND 360 EXOTIC PLANT SPECIES EXIST ALONG THE OVENS RIVER AND ITS TRIBUTARIES. 14 NATIVE SPECIES ARE OF NATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE WHILE 62 ARE OF CONSERVATION SIGNIFICANCE IN VICTORIA. THERE ARE 47 NATIVE MAMMAL SPECIES, 38 NATIVE REPTILE SPECIES AND 12 NATIVE FROG SPECIES RECORDED WITHIN THE OVENS CATCHMENT. THE AREA PROVIDES PERFECT CONDITIONS FOR NATIVE FISH, SUCH AS THE ICONIC MURRAY COD. THE OVENS RIVER IS HOME TO FRESH WATER TURTLES, YABBIES AND CRAYFISH. MANY GUESTS REPORT SIGHTING KING FISHERS, TURTLES AND LUCKY PADDLERS MAY SPOT THE SHY NANKEEN NIGHT HERON . ALL GUESTS WISH THEY HAD DONE IT BEFORE.
